Als Direktor der Gewehrfabrik in Wien verbesserte er durch mehrere Erfindungen das militärische Maschinenwesen, als Generalmajor übernahm er 1831 das Artilleriebrigadekommando in Wien, wurde 1838 Feldmarschalllieutenant und Divisionär bei der Artillerie. In dieser Zeit erfand er mehrere Maschinen für die Kanonengießereien und Bohrereien, die siebenpfündige lange Haubitze und führte verbesserte Fuhrwerke in der österreichischen Artillerie ein. - Die Tafeln mit zahlr.
