Description

Spanish school of the first half of the 20th century. "Maternity", 1931. Brass relief. Signed and dated in the lower right corner. Measurements: 48 x 42 cm. In this piece the artist resorts to maternity as a theme to give life to an inert material. Starting from figuration, the relief ascends towards a figuration of pure and emphatic forms that are not detached from reality but that aspires to the immutable. The sinuous forms, roundings and hollows are presented as a game in which light and shadows play a great role.
