"ATIZA"; JOSÉ CHACÓN (Spain, active in the late 19th century-early 20th century). "Modistas". Watercolor drawing on paper. Signed in the lower right corner. The frame has lack of polychrome. Measurements: 16 x 10 cm; 29 x 22 cm (frame). Atiza was a graphic humorist and cartoonist who began in the magazine "Nuevo Mundo" around 1903. In 1904 he worked in "Papel de Estraza", and a little later among the collaborators of "El Cuento Semanal". He was a regular contributor to "Blanco y Negro". He also illustrated books such as the "comic novels" by Luis Taboada, "La viuda de Chaparro" and "Pescadero, a tus besugos", both from 1906.
