This composition of bright and contrasting colors awakens sensations of emotional intensity, in the line of the German expressionists of Die Brucke. Specifically, the painting recalls some of Karl Schmidt Rottluff's anti-naturalistic landscapes, endowed with the same determination to express the soul with color and energetic strokes. The present painting shows similar angular and simplified, gemetrizing forms.
