Spanish school of the 20th century. "Piranha". Wood and metal sculpture. Marble base with restoration and pickets. Measurements: 25 x 30 x 7 cm (figure); 7 x 6,5 x 6,5 cm (base). During the nineteenth and twentieth century the animal-themed sculpture will finally reach its own status within the context of romantic sculpture. Seeking to break away from the classical sculptural ideal, many artists saw in the animal theme a new way of expression, linked to the emotional and irrational nature, in a purely romantic sense.

French school of the first third of the twentieth century. "Rooster". Hand painted bronze on veined marble base. Without signature. Measurements: 16 x 16 x 7 cm. (figure). 2 x 9 x 12 cm. (base). During the nineteenth and twentieth century, animal-themed sculpture finally achieved its own status within the context of romantic sculpture. Gypsy. France, mid-20th century. White ceramic. Signed on the base. Measurements: 38 x 18 x 14 cm. Sculpture of folkloric theme representing a gypsy of delicate features. This work is part of the rise of regionalism in the second half of the nineteenth century and the first third of the twentieth century, developed an art of romantic heritage, costumbrista and realistic and detailed invoice, which focused on the representation of issues, themes and characters that reflect a new sense of folklore.
