This work, which has never been offered at auction (RBH) and is very scarce, having been printed in only 61 copies, shows the early work of Aligi Sassu, assisted by his friend Piero Fornasetti as engraver and graphic artist. In addition to subjects from classical mythology, the portfolio includes several conflict scenes reflecting contemporary events such as 'La Fucilazione' and 'Massacro'. Folio, (503 x 325mm). Litographic frontispiece and half-title signed by Sassu, 9 signed lithographs numbered 10/46 by Piero Fornasetti (out of 10, the lithograph 'The Two Horsemen' is missing), short explanatory text by Carrieri, title page, limitation and index of plates, all within yellow printed publisher's portfolio (some wear).
