SANMICHELI, Michele (1484-1559). Le fabbriche civili ecclesiastiche e militari. Verona: Eredi Moroni, 1823. Scarce first edition of this famous monograph on the well-known Renaissance architect Sanmicheli, published serially in Verona in between 1823 and 1830. All of Sanmicheli's major architectural works are described, here masterfully illustrated by Francesco Ronzani and Gerolamo Luciolli. Folio, (476 x 315 mm). 3 volumes, 150 engraved plates interspersed with the descriptive text pages, including frontispiece portrait of Sanmicheli; a fresh, well-margined copy printed on strong paper, with errata bound at the end of the third volume (a few sporadic wormholes to blank margins not touching the engraving, some light wear). Half vellum, gilt title-piece to spine. (3)
