SWART VAN GRONINGEN, Jan (1500-1553). A plate from 'Solimanus imperator Turcharum". 1526 (but 17th" century). A plate depicting three trumpeters in Ottoman dress on horseback, from a series originally consisting of 5 blocks depicting the procession of Suleiman the Magnificent. There is no record of this work being sold at auction. (335 x 275mm). Woodcut on paper watermarked 'Small Arms of Amsterdam' (some restoration, margins reinforced). Likely printed first half of seventeenth century. (1)
