OKAMURA, Kintaro (1867-1935). Icones of Japanese algae. Tokyo: Kazamashobo, 1907-1942. Scarce and fundamental repertory of Japanese algae of great artistic as well as scientific importance. The care taken by the author in reproducing each specimen in drawings is linked to his bibliophilic passion: Okamura in fact collected, studied and classified educational books from the Meiji period to the beginning of the Showa era, leaving a study on the collection of Japanese folk books called Ohraimono. 10 volumes in 7 parts, 4to, (258 x 190mm). Numerous colored engraved plates outside text, very good condition. Contemporary cloth binding in publisher's printed cardboard (some tears to cases). (7)
