Fine copy in good internal condition of the first edition of this botanical repertory of medicinal plants, illustrated with 544 fine engravings on 68 plates, all engraved by the author after his own drawings. There is little information about the botanist and painter Giovanni Battista Morandi, a native of Milan; he is best remembered for being the iconographer of the botanical garden of Turin in the 1830s. Folio, (413 x 265mm). Engraved frontispiece, title-page printed in red and black, 68 engraved plates outside text, in good condition. Contemporary binding with vellum spine, title-piece to spine (some wear). (1)
