Binding in good condition (spine a little creased, laces missing). Minor marginal spotting on 20 leaves, otherwise very good condition inside. First Aldine edition of this important medical text. Oribasius (320-400) was the physician of Emperor Julian the Apostate. He was the propagator of GALIAN's contributions to medicine. The Synopsis for Eustathius is an abridgement of his main work, Collectiones medicae (published in 70 volumes), dedicated to his son Eustathius and addressed to those who must travel.
