[LATIN COMEDY] Lot of two early 16th century editions of Plautus and Terence. PLAUTUS. Comoediae vigiti. Venice: 1518. Folio (317 x 215mm) Engraved printer's device on title page and colophon, wood-engraved initials and 87 beautiful vignettes in the text depicting scenes from the comedies. (half of title-page missing, replaced with blank paper, lacking final blank, small wormtrack to upper margin of last 5 leaves not touching text, some sporadic spotting and browning, otherwise internally in good condition) provenance: 18th century seminarum episcopalis stamp. 18th century full vellum binding, spine lettered in manuscript (probably skilfully restored) [with:] TERENCE. Comedie di Terentio nuovamente di latino in volgare tradotte. [Venice: Bernardino Vitali, 1533]. 8vo (160 x 105mm) title within allegorical border ( a fragment of jut 140 leaves, 1 to 140, complete in itslef). Bound in twentieth-century vellum.(2)
