First Aldine edition, scarcely found complete with both volumes, of Cicero's philosophical works, printed entirely in italics and in a beautiful later binding. Adams C1741; Renouard p.97f. 8vo, (148 x 100mm). Aldine anchor to title-pages and colophon of second volume, (The last two leaves containing the register and colophon are missing from the first volume, title page of second volume with old repairs). Early 18th century full vellum binding, blue edges. Provenance: some early marginal annotations, partially trimmed and on the title page of the first volume; 'ex libris Laurentii Napolioni' on the endpapers. (2)
