BOCCACCIO (1313-1375). Il Decamerone. Florence: Giunta 1527 (but Venice: Pasinello, 1729). Elegant counterfeit of the 1527 edition, printed in only 300 copies and published at the request of the English consul Joseph Smith, reproducing the typeface and printer's device of the original version but correcting errors in pagination. 4to, (250 x 180mm). Printer's device on title page and colophon with fleur-de-lis supported by two putti; an uncut, wide-margined copy (wormhole to first two leaves touching text, otherwise good copy). Contemporary carta rustica binding, spine lettered in manuscript. Provenance: ex libris Ludovico De Gobbis (20th century). (1)
