ENRIQUETA PASCUAL BENIGANI (1905- Barcelona, 1969). "Landscape with deer", 1936. Hand enameled copper plate. Signed and dated on the bottom. Measurements: 19,5 x 19,5 x 2 cm. Enriqueta Pascual was a key figure in the Barcelona artistic environment of the 30's. She is known as a collaborator, although also a fervent creator, in the art of urushi, of the woodcutter Lluís Bracons i Sunyer. She specialized in Japanese lacquer. She won three gold medals: in 1923 at the furniture exhibition; in 1925 at the Salón de las Artes Decorativas de Pariera and, in 1929, at the International Exhibition of Barcelona, with El mercado de Calaf. The 1930s were his golden years, the years of Art Deco, after the separation of Bracons in 1928. The Design Museum of Barcelona preserves works by Enriqueta Pascual, such as a dressing table made by Joan Busquets and lacquered by her or Lluís Bracons, or a lacquered and polychrome copper vase.
