Description

CLAUDIO CINTOLI (Imola 1935 - Rome 1978) The Micromegalomaniac, 1971 Volume with photolithographic reproductions, ex. 135/300 Measures 28 x 22 cm. Dedication inside Autograph signature and print run on last page Artestudio Macerata Edition Lot includes one signed and numbered original etching VIII diary of Claudio Cintoli. This album, as the artist called it here, encompasses experiences and projects included from 1968 to 1971, as well as a good component of quotations from writings by other artists and writers (Magritte, De Chirico, but also Schopenhauer and André Breton, Jarry, Nietzsche, Surrealist poetry). In these pages he sketches the Micromegalomaniac, an imaginary and vaguely autobiographical character, 'counterpelled and anti-aesthetic,' who 'catapulted himself into adventures,' the protagonist of the story that gives the Diary its title.
