Manjushri is a bodhisattva who represents the supreme wisdom in Mahayana Buddhism. He appears here represented with a proliferation of arms carrying a sword (symbolizing the power of wisdom to cut ignorance and illusions), books and scrolls rolled up (representing knowledge and sacred teachings). Manjushri personifies the wisdom that leads to enlightenment and serves as a spiritual guide for practitioners who aspire to understand the deep truths of the universe and to be liberated from suffering.
