Unknown (16th), Exultate, manuscript on parchment, Watercolor Unknown (16th century): Exultate [], illuminated manuscript on parchment, 16th century, Watercolor Technique: Watercolor on Parchment Date: 16th century Description: The image shows a page of a medieval manuscript. The manuscript reveals Gothic lettering that is characterised by its ornamental quality and careful proportions. Accentuated by illuminations in red and blue, it bears witness to a high level of craftsmanship. The condition of the parchment, obviously aged and stained in the margins, emphasises its historical significance and preserves the aesthetics of its era. This copy was probably made in the later 16th century. The manuscript reveals Gothic lettering characterised by its ornamental quality and careful proportioning. Coloured initials and accents in red and blue as well as more subtle pigments highlight certain areas of text that are presumably of particular importance. The parchment page appears aged, with characteristic traces of patina that emphasise the historical authenticity of the document. This copy was probably made in the later 16th century.
