Mieczyslaw LURCZYNSKI (1907-1992) Seaside with pine trees Oil on paper pasted on isorel Signed lower left 38.7 x 53.7 cm Condition report available on request: [email protected] NOTICE Born in St. Petersburg, Mieczyslaw Lurczynski studied painting in Warsaw with Blanche Mercère and Adam Rychtarski. He exhibited in a number of Polish cities and quickly achieved success. He was also a writer, publishing poetry and plays. He was arrested in 1943 and sent to Buchenwald; after liberation, he settled permanently in Paris in 1949.
