MUSIC - MARKEVITCH Igor (1912 - 1983) - Autograph letter signed Autograph letter signed, dated “15 Mai 69” by the Ukrainian composer and conductor. Markevitch gained important recognition in 1929 when choreographer-impresario Serge Diaghilev discovered him and commissioned a piano concerto from him. In addition, Diaghilev invited him to collaborate on a ballet with Boris Kochno, a dancer and librettist. He produced at least one major work per year during the 1930s. He was rated among the leading contemporary composers of the time, even to the extent of being hailed as "the second Igor", after Igor Stravinsky. Addressed to the count Franco Zaffrani: “…Je n’avais pas répondu à ton mot du Lancaster qui m’a rejoint à New York (…) Comme toi, je suis très fidèle à mes amitiés, même si les circumstances me tiens éloignée de ceux qui j’aime…”. 1 p. "BON"; ROMÁN BONET SINTES (Barcelona, 1886 - 1967). "Dreamlike vision" c.1930. Mixed media on paper. Signed in the lower left corner. Measurements: 33 x 24 cm; 8 x 49 cm (frame). Painter, sculptor and above all cartoonist, since his early youth Bon collaborated with many Catalan magazines, among which are "Talía", "En Patufet", "Papitu", "L'Esquella de la Torratxa" and "Empori". He made his first important exhibitions during the second decade of the century, and in the twenties he devoted himself mainly to poster design, being awarded a gold medal in this discipline at the Universal Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925, and the gold medal in the poster competition of the International Exhibition of Barcelona in 1929. Between 1927 and 1929 he lived in New York, where he also held several successful exhibitions, collaborated with publications such as the "Herald Tribune", "Times" and "Morning Post", and was awarded a prize at the exhibition of The National Club.
