BEAUX-ARTS - Hortense HAUDEBOURT-LESCOT (née Viel, 1784-1845, artist appointed painter to the Duchesse de Berry) / Autograph letter signed, 2 p in-8 plus address page with postage, November 30, 1823 (postmark), to the renowned painter Jacques-Louis DAVID: she asks if the petition in favor of her protégée Mademoiselle Juramy has been sent to Monsieur de Martignac (Minister of Louis XVIII), so that Monsieur Siméon (of the Académie des Beaux-Arts) can remind her of it (Hortense Haudebourt-Lescot, a rare female painter, had founded an all-female studio; a few years later, we find a State commission for a female painter named Marie Juramy).
