Hondo (né en 1972) The real "O" circa 1998 Mixed media on canvas signed and titled on back 38 x 61 cm Hondo began tagging at the age of 10 in the Châtelet district of Paris: "I went into graffiti like my mates went into cinema", he told Arnaud Laporte in 2000 on France Culture's Multipistes program. He is also one of the first French artists to have transposed his work from the street to the canvas: here we find the spontaneity and "margin for error" left to the spray can in the same way as Georges Mathieu or Jean-Michel Atlan left it to the paintbrush.
