Oksana Mas (née en 1969) D4 (project "Mars - Thousands Kisses Deep") 2020 Acrylic on canvas signed and dated lower right, countersigned and titled on back 40 x 40 cm > Accompanied by an artist's certificate of authenticity dated July 1, 2020 Condition report: Framed Oksana Mas is a renowned Ukrainian artist, trained at the Ilyichevsk School of Arts and the Grekov School of Arts in Odessa. Her work is marked by a diversity of media, including painting, plastic installations and video art. Mas belongs to the non-conformist Ukrainian pictorial tradition, while developing a highly personal style. His distinctive realism manifests itself through a patented individual technique, which involves layering and mixing layers of paint, pencil, varnish and lacquer on canvas. This method lends his works dreamlike, almost abstract tones. With over 300 exhibitions to her credit worldwide, Oksana Mas takes part in prestigious art events such as London Frieze, the Armory Show in New York, FIAC in Paris, Art Basel in Miami, Arco Madrid, Sotheby's auctions... In 2011, Oksana Mas was chosen to represent Ukraine at the 54th Venice Biennale. For this event, she created a monumental installation in the form of a mosaic made up of over three million wooden eggs. In 2012, the eminent Italian art critic Achille Bonito Oliva dedicated a book to her work, entitled Oksana Mas by Achille Bonito Oliva. (MLD)
