Ethiopia, rare Coptic triptych with Christian icons, late 19th - early 20th century, 4 double-sided panels, 8 icons, in carved and chiseled black stone, Dimensions: closed 15 x 9 cm - open 15 x 17 cm, good condition, some of the goatskin ties linking the panels have disappeared. Images of saints and angels are carved into the stone. Also known as a prayer box, it is used for devotional purposes.
