A SMALL BACTRIAN STONE CARVING OF A GOAT HEAD A SMALL BACTRIAN STONE CARVING OF A GOAT HEAD Presumably ancient region of Bactria, c. 2500 years old. Portraying a goat head with wide-set eyes above a wide snout and backward-curled horns. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above. Dr. István Zelnik, President of the Hungarian South and Southeast Asian Research Institute, is a former high-ranking Hungarian diplomat who spent several decades in Southeast Asia, building the largest known private collection of Asian art in Europe. Condition: Good condition commensurate with age. Extensive wear, signs of weathering and erosion, small chips, and some losses. Weight: 197.8 g Dimensions: Length 8.5 cm
