Adachi Ginko (Tokyo 1853 - 1908 Tokyo), 'Zwei Farbholzschnitte aus der Folge "Tawamure-e" (Verspielte Bilder): "Der Krieg der Frösche" und "Ringkampf der Frösche", 1884/85, each color woodcut on Japan, each signed lower left in the cane and with the caption in the upper margin, each with narrow margins, each approx. 11.2 x 17.2 cm, both under glass and passepartout in a golden metal frame, overall size: 42 x 32 cm. Wood engraver and painter, pupil of Kawase Bunyō, influenced by Utagawa Hiroshige, he is considered one of the innovators of Japanese woodblock prints and precursor of the Shin-Hanga movement.
