France, officer's sabre, probably late 18th century, curved blade with fullers on both sides, brass knucklebow hilt, later Prussian crowned cipher "FR" on the obverse side of the guard, leather-covered grip cover with intact brass wire winding, blade slightly pitted, black brass-framed leather scabbard with two movable suspension rings, marked on the obverse side of the locket "Montigny Fourbisserus rue Honoré N° 199 Paris", scabbard lace missing, blade l: 78 cm, total (with scabbard): 90.5 cm.
