Montreal 1976 Summer Olympics Gold Winner's Medal for Rowing Winner's medal issued for rowing at the Montreal 1976 Summer Olympics. Gilt silver, 60 mm, 160 gm, by Giuseppe Cassioli, minted by the Royal Canadian Mint, Ottawa. The front, inscribed, "XXIe Olympiade Montreal 1976," features a 'Seated Victory' with the Coliseum in the background; the reverse features the Montreal Olympic emblem and victor's laurel wreath. The bottom edge is engraved with the sport, "Aviron." Complete with its golden chain. Rowing at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal featured races in 14 events, all held at the rowing basin on Notre Dame Island. The Montreal Games also marked the debut of women's rowing events, as well as the introduction of quadruple sculls. A total of 593 rowers from 31 nations competed: East Germany dominated with nine first-place finishes, with Bulgaria, the Soviet Union, Norway, and Finland also earning gold medals.

OEUF DE FABERGÉ "FIREBIRD EGG" FRANKLIN MINT MAISON FABERGÉ A vermeil music box featuring a blue-enameled egg standing on a campaniform base with a row of gadroons and four stapled feet, from which a tree appears to emerge, its branches clinging to the egg on a guilloché background applied with leafy branches and scratched with small ruby-like stones. It is held closed by a clasp with two twisted rods, each set with two ruby-like stones. It opens with two hemispheres, revealing a phoenix or "Firebird" with crest and ruffled feathers. Markings on the underside: "F" (apocryphal) de Fabergé" "The Fabergé Firebird Egg, HOUSE OF IGOR KARL FABERGE © 87 FM .925 STERLING". REUGE mechanism Dim : 16,5, Diam : 10,5 cm In working order, very slight lack of enamel underneath. Minor wear to gilding.
