Jaroslav Honzík (Pilsen 1870 - 1954 Prague), 'Seamen sitting on a quay wall, 1901, oil on canvas, mounted on card, inscribed on the reverse "Jaroslav Honzik, Paris 1901", with a typographical label in Czech with biographical information on the artist and the rudiment of the seal of a Parisian picture dealer in Montparnasse, 17 x 27 cm, in a wide wooden frame with gilded inner strip, overall size: 27 x 37 cm. Limit 180,- >> Czech painter, graphic artist and architect, initially studied architecture at the Technical University of Prague, then from 1895-97 studied painting under M. Pirner, 1897-99 studied at the Munich Academy, 1900-09 stayed in Paris and Brittany, 1909-33 professor at the Academy of Art and Industry, Prague, member of the Mánes artists' association.
