Hans Bohrdt (Berlin 1857 - 1945 Berlin), "S.M.S. Nassau", 1910, oil on cardboard, signed, dated and titled lower left, 45 x 62 cm, precise depiction of the tall ship (commissioned in 1909, decommissioned as a reparation ship in 1920 and scrapped), lower right corner with stain, in narrow wooden frame, overall size: 49 x 66 cm. Provenance: Werner Collection, Neunkirchen. Limit 540,- >> German marine painter, originally self-taught, the Emperor became his greatest patron, awarded the gold medal at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition in 1901.
