Vorwiegend im unteren Bereich mit Kratzern. Insgesamt in noch gutem Zustand. Farbintensive Arbeit, die eine reiche und arkadische Landschaft in stimmungsaufgeladener Manier des Symbolismus zeigt. Deutscher Maler und Vertreter des Symbolismus. Er studierte zunächst ab 1879 an der Düsseldorfer Malerschule mit den Schwerpunkten Landschaften, Illustration und Radierung und galt als einer der besten Schüler des Jahrgangs. Für 1 Jahre wechselte er zu Franz von Lehnbach nach München. Er verlagerte seinen Lebensmittelpunkt zurück nach Düsseldorf, begab sich in jener Zeit jedoch auf viele und ausgedehnte Reisen nach Italien, wo er große Faszination für die römische Antike aufbaute und diese motivisch in zahlreichen Arbeiten behandelte. Stilistisch entfernte sich sein Werk vom Realismus der Düsseldorfer Malerschule und auch seines Lehrers Franz von Lehnbach. Frenz' Stil und Motivik wurden üppiger und bedienten sich einer reichen, allegorisch-symbolischen Bildsprache, sodass er den Beinamen "der rheinische Franz von Stuck" erhielt. Oil on wood panel. Carl Jutz the Younger, Prächtige Villa im Park sunlit, partly wreathed, sophisticated villa with partially lowered shutters and a sweeping terrace, which leads over a stone staircase into a magnificent wild, shady park, slightly pastose, partly executed with a pointed brush, high-quality painting with skilful light treatment, oil on canvas, incised signature "C.
