Hans Pluquet (Darkehmen 1903 - 1981 Bremen), "Die Große Düne bei Nidden", 1938, watercolor over pencil preparatory drawing on chamois-colored wove paper, signed, dated and titled in pencil lower right, 47 x 62 cm, after Expressionists such as Max Pechstein, Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and Arthur Degner had discovered the Curonian Spit for themselves, Nidden had become one of the most important artists' colonies, under glass and passe-partout in plain wooden frame, overall size: 70 x 88 cm.
