A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF AVALOKITESVARA, TANG STYLE A GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF AVALOKITESVARA, TANG STYLE China, Style of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), but dating to the late 19th - early 20th century. The figure standing in samabhanga on a lotus pedestal, holding a kundika in one hand and a lotus stem in the other, with the blossom leaning towards the shoulder. Wearing a diaphanous skirt, falling in large folds. The face with a serene expression, heavy lidded eyes, and full lips, all beneath a crown. Ther backside with a triangular opening. Provenance: German private collection. Condition: Good condition with wear. Signs of erosions, rubbing to gilding, small dents, and tiny losses. With few malachite encrustations. Weight: 462.9 g Dimensions: Height 17 cm
