Ethnicity: Mumuye. Country: Nigeria. Extraordinary for its degree of stylization and antiquity (19th century), this ape mask dances in the ritual that precedes the harvesting of the peanut. His mission is to magically scare away the multitude of monkeys that threaten the harvest. 23x22x46cm
