Klaus Fußmann (born 1938 Velbert/Rhineland, based in Berlin and Gelting) Lilac still life One of Fußmann's main subjects are flower still lifes, which he paints with particular passion, inspired by the Expressionists, and writes himself: "Flowers wither quickly and are a brief pleasure. But they will still be blooming when the dialogues about art are all over, and the colors of the flowers are incomparable to anything else (...) far exceed our expectations". After studying at the Folkwang School in Essen and the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Berlin, Fußmann was awarded the Villa Romana Prize in 1972 and exhibited at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. He worked as a professor in Berlin from 1974-2005. On the occasion of his 70th and 80th birthday, his oeuvre was shown in comprehensive exhibitions, including at the Landesmuseum Schloss Gottorf and the Museum Barberini in Potsdam. Mixed media/paper.
