A RARE FOUNTAIN AUTOMATA AND MUSICAL CLOCK, FRENCH, EARLY 19TH CENTURY Louis Philippe period, circa 1830-1840 in retail condition. the gilt and patinated bronze case formed from a waterfall, the naturalistically cast rocks enclosing a rotating glass 'water fall', with an ormolu figure of a cavalier seated beside, on a plinth base with military trophy mount and raised on griffin feet, the gilt dial within an ornate foliate bezel, with Roman numerals, the single train timepiece movement with pendulum, winding from the reverse, the automaton waterfall with switch and winding square to the right side of the case, running for up to four hours, the plinth base fitted with a musical movement, also with switch and winding square to the right side of the base, 37cm high In full working order and retail condition.
