LOT OF TWELVE TILES .It is specified that this story presents plates all of different sizes: from a maximum of 48 x 33 cm to a minimum of 27 x 30 cmHere Marco Corona brings to completion and to the apex his research of what he likes to call the" masonry in wood" and that in this work, almost a thought-out and studied segment of a long saga, finds the highest point of a long research on the figure of Pinocchio. It is an undoubtedly gothic Pinocchio, already present, in the wooden stump from which it is carved, which with the hollows of the wood and a dry, crooked branch like a syllable already generates a somber mask of the puppet. The stump is in essence is, Corona declares, the puppet in synthesis, its figuration in modernist style as oubject trouvé: the carpenter, but of course also the artist, must "liberate the soul" inherent in it, Michelangelo-like.Marco Corona does this with a sign that recalls the xylographic sign, the wood engraving from which the art of Western printing originated: dry, dry, twisted and suffering. There is also a reference to his father's trade, a carpenter like Geppetto.
