Théophile SOYER (1853-1940) Halberdier Painted enamel on copper Monogrammed lower right 9 x 6 cm. Théophile Soyer (1853-1940), an enameler from Limoges, contributed to the revival of painted enamels in the 19th century. The initial model was produced in 1885. A larger version is in the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Limoges.
