Olympic Games/ summer, 1920-28/ Antwerp-Amsterdam/ Edouard Fraisse (1880-1945), The footballer shooting Bronze trophy H.: 26 cm, arm: 25.5 cm Small crack on the left foot, chips on the terrace. This subject, probably created by the artist during the Olympic soccer tournaments of the 1920s, was so popular and spectacular that it was later used as a Prestige Trophy. Here, for example, it personifies "the Challenge Bret et Garcia, 1947..." signed on the terrace (16x10.5) by the artist, with the rarer mention "bronze". On an impressive plinth (14.5x9), the player seeks balance with his arms, giving the impression of taking flight.
