Games of Antiquity/ The eternal winner/ Athens 1896/ Pierre Le Faguays (1892-1962) Aerial subject of the victorious athlete seated on his huge black pedestal, as if in 7th heaven. Palm brandished in right hand, the king is not his cousin. The pedestal (onyx?) is a find (28.7x16x12), and the whole is impressive. Beautiful green patina. In fact, the ancestor of the podium, with a giant UN. Signed on the base. 61 x 13 cm A few small chips.

Astonishing round medal in white plaster depicting Baron de Coubertin on obverse: "Baron Pierre de Coubertin..." attractive profile, with famous moustache, surmounting the rings. Reverse: Athens 1896, Munchen 1972. Diameter: 80mm. In its white, square, scratched case (the five rings, and KPM). Very rare. Two GDR-DDR Olympic porcelain plates, with gilded discobolus and Olympic rings, one round (diam. 60), the other rectangular (80x44), are attached.
