Gwennan JOLIVET, born in 2000 O tebriñ er maez, 2024 Oil on canvas, signed on back. 100 x 70 cm --- Gwennan JOLIVET, born in 2000 After graduating in Breton at Rennes 2 and taking a DNA at EESAB Lorient, Gwennan Jolivet entered the Beaux-Arts in Nîmes, where Brittany followed. Her research revolves around the heritage and transmission of the Breton language, which she has spoken since childhood. Intimacy is also at the heart of her work, through memory and the body's relationship with its environment and language. In the past, she has studied the work of the Seiz Breur, particularly that of the women Jeanne Malivel, a native of this movement, and Suzanne Creston. The Seiz Breur aesthetic motivates her in her attempt to renew Breton art. Now at art school, she is inspired by contemporary art and works on installations, paintings, videos and soundtracks. Gwennan Jolivet is now turning her attention to questions of heritage, with the healing rituals present in her family.
