Reference : 615 --- Alexandre DOUCET, born 1979 Alexandre Doucet's sculptures play with balance and emptiness to let light shine through. Engraved motifs reflect the accidents that punctuate our lives. The combination of metal and light materializes a projection into the future, where everything is transformed. It symbolizes his own reflection on our resilience. He offers a range of light sculptures and paintings in steel. Each type of form - cube, column, disc or picture - is available in 3 or 4 graphic or textured motifs, combined with a wide choice of finishes. Combinations of textures and patinas can create a nuanced or more contrasting ambience. Each piece is unique and made entirely in his workshop. He cuts and gouges freehand with a plasma cutter. The interior lighting of each sculpture modifies its perception. His professional life has been made up of diverse experiences, always with materials and their environment. He began by learning boilermaking, followed by car mechanics. In his thirties, after several years as a stonemason in historic monuments, he took another CAP in cabinetmaking. In 2009, he set up his own business specializing in the manufacture of West African musical instruments. For almost 6 years, this was the core of his business'. He has been creating sculptures since 2015, and his return to metal sounded' like a reminder of what was fundamental to him. Today, he practices several skills, traveling from wood to metal to bronze.
