Linen dyed with three different shades of glaz, phosphate-free dye. Textile smocked, hand-pleated gathers made from cotton threads. Brass hinges. Monogram engraved on bronze plate inlaid on the edge of one foot. 3 identical panels: 60 x 160 cm Traditional Breton textile technique used on women's costumes and men's bragoù. Profiled legs with cut sides, in reference to Osté furniture. --- PEVARZEK Collectif FALIGOT Nolwenn, LE GUERN Mathieu, GUE HO Patrick, MIGAUD René-Claude, POHO Owen, NANOU Valy, NICO LAS Anaïs et BRAND'HONNEUR Yves In 2023, to mark the centenary of the Seiz Breur movement, a group of artists, craftsmen and designers with shared values came together to create Pevarzek ("fourteen" refers to the number of founding members). a collective that draws inspiration from the "Seiz Breur" approach to multicultural creation, transposing it to the present day. Like the artistic impetus that has enriched the relationship between ancient Celtic tradition and modernism in the applied and decorative arts, Pevarzek now brings together creative people wishing to enhance Breton themes in their various fields: architecture, painting, sculpture, photography, graphic design, furniture design, textile design, etc. Pevarzek aims to reflect the image of a contemporary Brittany that is dynamic, tolerant and open to other cultures. Pevarzek invites you to discover creations that echo the Seiz Breur, illustrating a diversity of styles and a shared desire to promote Brittany, its heritage and know-how, while renewing its creative power in a modern way. For Ar Seiz Avel, the collective created two screens, Paravel koad sav and Paravel giaz mor, elements that are both decorative and utilitarian, in keeping with the play of porosity in Breton domestic space. In addition, they are inspired by the work on the boundaries between places for entertaining and places of intimacy in traditional Breton housing, notably through the strong presence of the enclosed bed with sliding wall or veil/canopy/curtain, allowing the individual to escape the glare of the family group, even though he or she is at the heart of the common room.
