In-8 black half-calf with corners, spine with ornate nerves, title page in red mar. 9 wood-engraved plates and numerous ornaments by Galanis. Edition of 1,150 copies; no. 120 of 120 on wove paper with hors texte and headbands in 2 states (black and bistre). A very good copy with full margins.

A very fine edition printed on large Hollande paper at full margins. It features a fine frontispiece portrait of the author engraved by Schmidt after Aved, vignettes, culs-de-lampe and ornate letters drawn and engraved by Cochin (Brunet, IV, 1421). A fine copy, despite the reported defects, in a spectacular porphyry binding.
