This one – dated and signed in 1495 – is the sixth of the Renaissance painter’s episodes on the legend of Saint Ursula. The colour ink «Carpaccio is dead» presented at the Foundation’s museum includes a collage, Folon having taken a piece of Carpaccio’s painting depicting Saint Ursula dreaming in her bed. Folon was inspired by this subject for the declination of other works. We thank the Folon Foundation who kindly informed us about the origin of the subject.
