A GROTESQUE BACTRIAN GLASS HEAD, c. 1000 BC A GROTESQUE BACTRIAN GLASS HEAD, c. 1000 BC Ancient region of Bactria, c. 1000 BC. The head with round eyes, small ears, and mouth agape with full rows of teeth, the glass of a deep burgundy color. Central drilling showing ancient toolmarks and allowing for suspension as a pendant. Condition: Very good condition commensurate with age, with minor wear and some encrustations. Provenance: The collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
