Description
Pair of herms. Genoese Baroque art, third quarter of the 18th century, area of Giovanni Battista Casella (1727- 1780) height 82 cm and 96 cm. The two compositions, parts of a more articulated sculptural complex with elegant puffed tunics, thoughtful framed faces, and "viviale" hair with wide locks, can be ascribed to the important seventeenth-century Genoese production by artists from Ticino and Lombardy such as Giovanni Battista Casella, to whose manner we liken the two herms.
