A SCARCE FOUR-INCH SOUTH AFRICAN POLICE CONTRACT .455 WEBLEY & SCOTT MKVI REVOLVER, serial no. 454164, circa 1925, with blacked 4in. barrel, pinched blade integral 'MKIV' style fore-sight, holster guides, period Birmingham commercial proofs, the right side of barrel hinge stamped 'S.A.P.', undated break-open frame with 'WEBLEY PATENTS' and the Winged Bullet trademark, fluted auto-ejecting cylinder and chequered hard rubber square heeled grips, much probable original finish. S5 - Sold as a Section 5 Firearm under the 1968 Firearms Act, Section 7.3 Eligible. Unless prior arrangement has been made, two weeks after the Sealed bid sale, all Section 5 (and Section 7.1 / 7.3) items will be moved to a Section 5 carriers where storage charges will be incurred.
