A RARE LATE VICTORIAN PATENT VETERINARY KNIFE BY BROOKES & CROOKES, SHEFFIELD, circa 1865, approximately 4 1/2in. closed with chequered horn scales and featuring an operating blade, scissors, forceps, a Syme's patent lancet (broken short), a metallic probe with searcher and mount for a caustic (absent), also hinged compartments at ends for flesh-needles (also absent). A very rare probably Suisse so called long knife or medieval farmers knife with wooden handle. Stamped blacksmith's mark. Probably Switzerland. Around 1500.

Knife, Dutch East Indies Large hunting knife from the Dutch East India Company, made by WIRA-Z-M TJIKEROEH, late 19th/early 20th century, 29 cm chased steel blade with plant decoration, blackened wooden handle, brass guard and pommel with deer paw and shell decoration, black leather and brass scabbard. x 45 cm. Brass missing from scabbard.
