First illustrated edition of Marmontel's masterpiece, with a portrait by Cochin engraved by Saint-Aubin, a frontispiece repeated in each volume and engraved by Duclos after Gravelot, and 23 hors-texte figures by Gravelot. "Gravelot's figures are among the prettiest this master has produced" Cohen (686-687). A few small brown spots. A fine copy.
